Dreaming
I am walking along a street, heading downhill, when a Chinese/Hong Kong woman approaches me. She speaks quietly so no one else can hear and asks me if I will have her dog. She means forever. I’m not sure, but I agree. She tells me he is at the bottom of the hill – the big shaggy dog.
I get to the bottom and see the dog; it is huge, much bigger than I thought it would be. I wouldn’t have agreed if I’d known. His body looks more like that of a grizzly bear, but he has the head of an Alsatian, a long face, etc. I take the dog’s lead, which is nothing more than a flimsy piece of rope, and I walk him. He is strong; the rope breaks, but I manage to get him home.
Indoors, he starts to bite Josh’s legs. I pull him off and tell him no. He does as he is told, which I am surprised at. I realise that I have full control over this dog, despite his size, and he just needs firm discipline and lots of praise and fun when he’s good.
