I’ve been thinking a lot about my lack of money. It’s all I think about.
I had £18 in my purse this morning. I don’t think I’ll have any more money for another two weeks. Obviously, this is going to cause a huge problem. I asked myself why I am struggling so much and wondered if it’s because I constantly tell myself that I have no money; therefore, I am creating a life with no money. I think that may play a part in it.
I wanted to know how I could attract more money into my life, so I picked up a book I bought ages ago but haven’t read, ‘The Magic’. I turned to the page on money, and it basically said that if you don’t show gratitude for what you receive, you won’t receive. I realise that not only do I not show gratitude, but I don’t even see it when I do receive it. For example, it wasn’t until I read that chapter that I saw how far I managed to stretch that £18. I went to the shop for dinner; everything was on offer. My entire shop for dinner, including drinks, was just over £5; normally I’d spend much more than that. I was able to put £7 in diesel in my car, which I desperately needed to do as it was almost out, and I still had enough left to go and get a lottery ticket (just in case!).
Was I grateful?
No, not until after I read the book and could see that something – some power, angels, the Universe – is trying to help me.
All I do is complain about how little I have and how hard my life supposedly is, but I never take the time to thank the universe for what I do have. Really, I do ok.
Life may be a bit of a struggle right now; I may have overdue bills coming out of my ears, but maybe if I felt a little more grateful for what I do have, and maybe if I were more grateful for all the small and big ways the Universe is trying to help me, maybe things wouldn’t be so hard.
