
“I’m heading to the solicitors to finalise the house and pick up the keys. Tonight, we’ll go and clean the house, ready to move in tomorrow. Meet me there at 7pm.”
I was held up sorting my children out and getting cleaning supplies.
“You’re late. Here’s a key. I’m going to leave you to it as you’re better at this sort of thing, and besides, you enjoy it. I’m off to the pub.”
I stayed behind, alone in our new home.
