Collect

Dreaming

I have to go to London to collect Lucy and bring her back to her house. I’m almost certain I know the way and feel quite confident. I get in the car with Abi to head to London; I think we have a two-hour journey ahead of us. Before I know it, we are in London, and I’ve received a text from Lois, who is with Lucy. It is of a map pinpointing which cafe/restaurant they’re in, and which table – no. 10.

I find myself at a train station named London. I quickly realise that London is a big place and I’m in the wrong part. I should be on the South Bank, but I’m not. I’m nowhere near the heart of the city; I’ve merely got off at the first sign indicating I was in the city. There are tourists around who have done the same; we all need to find the right train to take us to the part of London we need. To my left, there is an audition going on; a young girl is singing; she is wearing a brightly coloured costume. Her singing is good; I hope they put her through.

I don’t know if I’m going to have enough time to meet up with Lucy and Lois before needing to be back home by 3pm. I don’t even know if they will still be there to see me, as I’m taking so long to get to them; I feel sure they’ll have given up on me by now.
