I am viewing a house this week that may be ideal for us. I have a few reservations about the area – it’s slightly further away than I wanted to go, which makes it more difficult for the children to easily see their friends – but I know we can work around that. The house has enough bedrooms, is on a really nice road and looks lovely from the outside.
I told the children that Tom and I are splitting up and that we’re moving out; they all took it really well, much better than I thought they would. Rosie grinned and said he was always having a go at her so she wasn’t sad about it all. Amelia expressed concern about not being able to see her friends, about me getting lonely, and said how selfish he is for making us leave while he stays in a house far too big for his needs – out of the mouth of babes.
I actually can’t wait for it to happen, and am going to start packing now that the children know.
I’m so glad I went for therapy and have finally been able to start seeing my worth; it’s given me the courage to do what I should have done a very long time ago.
