Yesterday, I took the girls out for the afternoon on their bikes. Amelia can ride confidently, but Rosie is still unsure and needs lots of encouragement. Tom refused to come with us or look after Annie as he was tired and wanted a nap before going to the pub in the evening.

Today, we met up with my brother-in-law Andy, and my nieces and nephew at a nearby park.

Tom joined us.

He wasn’t going to, but when he overheard the girls talking about their cousins and Andy being there, he decided to come along.

Whenever I take the children out somewhere, Tom is either absent or the time is tinged with sadness. Like today. He didn’t want to spend time with me or the children; he just wanted to see Andy.
