Weapon

Dreaming

I am in Linton town centre and hear that Julie is dead; she has been stabbed with a knife and died. I have to tell the girls; Rosie is unfazed, but Amelia is quite upset by it.

At home, I notice the rubbish – which looks quite like my camping gear and red holdall – and see that the murder weapon – the knife – is wrapped in tissue and concealed. Josh has hidden it there. I somehow know that Josh didn’t commit the murder but has come across the weapon and hidden it. I also know that the police will be checking everyone’s rubbish for any clues, so I have to get rid of the evidence so that Josh/we don’t get the blame.

I take the knife into a bedroom and unwrap it. There is congealed blood on it, and part of a brain. The murder victim has now changed to Ellie, and I cry for the loss of her. I am very upset. I am driving in Northbridge, at the crossroads with Ellie on my mind.
