Bleeding

Dreaming

I am in a house with Clive, Susie and the children. Clive is taking the children somewhere and tells me they’ll be back at 9.15pm. Susie and Clive think this is okay. I am unhappy and tell them there is no way my children are going out alone until that time, and that I’ll be going with them. Susie relents, and agrees with me.

Everyone is gone now, Tom is there now, and Clive has become Danny. Tom and Danny are arguing. Tom pushes Danny to the floor and empties his pockets. A bit of loose change falls out, and Tom says, “Look, this is all you’ve got; she won’t want you if this is all you have to offer” He is talking about me, and I realise that Tom thinks I’m with him and not with Danny because of his money. Danny gets up, and they argue more; Tom takes out a gun and aims it at Danny.

I am near the front door and open the door to get out of danger’s way. At that point, Tom fires the gun; the bullet hits me in the back between the shoulder blades. I go out onto the street, which looks like Whitehall Road and lie face down on the pavement against a wall. I wonder if I am bleeding, and with that, I feel the warmth of the blood starting to surround my body. I look, and the pavement beneath me is turning red with my blood. A woman from over the road comes to my aid, although I am sure with that amount of blood loss I won’t make it.
