Work

Watercolour and ink illustration of a British five-pound banknote featuring Queen Elizabeth II, the Bank of England lettering and ornate security details. The note curves gently across the image, surrounded by colourful blue, teal, green, purple and orange watercolour splashes, droplets and drips against a clean white background.

Dreaming

Viv is angry about having to go out to work; her husband, Tony, is telling her she has to. She doesn’t see why she should have to. I suggest to her just doing one hour a day at Jellicombe and to save her wages. To leave it in the bank and use it to go on holidays. I work out how much she would save in a year, but then Karen says the amount is wrong. When I think about it, I realise I’d been working it out at £5 per week when it’s actually £5 per day. Viv feels excited at the thought of doing it this way.

Responding

Viv, in real life, is a woman who is very angry; she has major issues with her mum. I know this is why she was in my dream. I’ve no doubt the ‘work’ in my dream is actually about the work I am doing on myself now.

I think the dream is telling me to just do a little bit of work at a time and that it will amount to a lot at the end, which will allow me the rest I need.
