Submerged

Dreaming

I am driving my car in the car park in Seabourne to get to the beach. It is a hot and sunny summer’s day around lunchtime, and I thought the car park would be packed, but in fact, it’s fairly empty. There are loads of spaces for me to park at the far end of the car park nearest the beach. I park there and get out of my car. I look at the water, which is to my left. There is a big red lorry driving in the sea; the water is not up very high, but I know it will get higher at some point if the lorry doesn’t get out.

I am a spectator in the dream looking in at the lorry under the water; it is fully submerged now, and the male driver of the lorry is angry about something. Something has caused him to go under, and as he’s been down quite a while, he has created a whole home/life down there. I spot something colourful in amongst things; it is multi-coloured, and reminds me of a parachute or some large piece of material, maybe something inflatable. It belongs to me, and I realise that it is my fault the lorry went under because of me letting the coloured thing go in the first place. (The colours red, orange and yellow are most significant.) The lorry driver is reading a newspaper; he loves to read papers and does so a lot, so much so that he has marked each article he has already read with a line under them so that he knows and doesn’t have to read them again next time he picks the paper up. I think it’s a good idea and might try it myself.

I am in a kind of shopping centre by an elevator; I know I have to get in, but I’m hesitating. The elevator is going to take me up, but I need a bit of a push in the right direction. There is someone else with me; they’re going in a different elevator.

Tom and I are getting married and are sorting out all the invitations, although it is kind of like our wedding reception as there are quite a few people around already. Tom is going through all the invites and making sure everyone is invited, literally everyone. There are people invited that I don’t see the point of being there, such as Gail, but Tom thinks she should be there as she is Abi’s boss’s daughter (not in real life). I don’t see why Abi’s associates need to be there and explain to someone that I would be happy with a few people that we really want: close friends, a hotdog, and an early night. I am worried that Tom has invited Christine when Barry is invited too, but I don’t think he has. I realise that Tom is worried about trying to please everyone and worried about what people will think of him, so he’s inviting everyone; I just want him and me.
