Dreaming
I pull into a car park and park my car. I am at a hospital; there are alarms going off and firemen everywhere. The hospital is on fire. I can’t see any flames, but I can see smoke. To my right, a Japanese man gets out of his car and takes four photographs of the scene and then walks away. I can’t help thinking that he must be really good at photography to only take four photographs.
The hospital seems to be made up of two parts – the old part of the hospital and the newer bit. I head towards the newer bit, go inside and see someone at the reception desk and a couple of other people around. It appears the new part is not on fire and is perfectly safe; it is ok to be inside here. It is the old hospital at the back that is on fire. There is a door to my right that leads to the back, but no one goes through it.
I am outside again; the fire is out, and I go around the back to look at the damage. It is Abi’s house, and there is a wall that is lined with loads and loads of books. Abi is pulling out some of the books to check them; they all seem to be ok. Dad is there too. I ask them if the fire could start again; they say it won’t. At that point, a couple of small areas ignite again but die back down just as quickly. I feel overwhelmed at the size of the old hospital but strangely at home amongst all the books with Abi. It feels comfortable and cosy.
