I never thought I’d find myself in a situation like this. It seems that I have four men interested in me. This didn’t happen in my teens, my twenties or my thirties, but it appears it’s happening now unless I’m reading all the signs wrong.
Tom seems to be really affectionate and nice to me lately; touching my arm or my hair, asking how I am, offering to help a lot more. I don’t know; I could be wrong, but I think he’d like more.
Dave keeps asking me to meet him for coffee or for a drink. Dad said to me last week, “Dave fancies you; he was asking after you the other day and wanting to know if you’re single.”
Theo has been texting me on and off for the last few weeks. I’ve not flirted or given him any come-on signs, yet he’s telling me I’m lovely, that I’m sexy and that there’s a bed at his if ever I find myself needing one.
And of course Phil. I know how he feels, I know what he wants, and I know he loves me.
So it would seem I have a choice to make. I have six different people I could choose, but each comes with pros and cons.
Dave:
Pros – Nice body.
Cons – I don’t fancy him. He’s unintelligent, has no sense of humour, and we have nothing in common.
Theo:
Pros – Good-looking, nice body. Intelligent. Open to spirituality.
Cons – Wet kisser. He didn’t contact me again after sleeping with me last time. He lives too far away. I sense that he’s too controlled, and sex wasn’t that great.
Tom:
Pros – Good Dad. I loved him once; I could love him again.
Cons – Abusive, controlling, he doesn’t listen. Too much history. He doesn’t respect me. There are too many cons to list.
Phil:
Pros – Kind, caring, loving, patient, non-judgmental.
Cons – Insecure, not enough attraction to him, childish, reckless, needy, suffocating.
Mysterious Man:
Pros – The possibilities are endless.
Cons – The possibilities are endless.
Myself:
Pros – Time to really get to know me some more. Time to really find out what I want to do. Time to have some fun and see where life’s going to take me.
Cons – Loneliness.
I think I’ve got my answer.
I am the one I need to date, with no more interference from Phil or Tom, or anyone else for now. Maybe in the future – maybe not – a new love will come along, but this time, I will not settle. When I’m ready, when it feels right, I’m going to go for it and find a man that I love and adore with all my heart. One who feels and shows me that it is the same in his heart too. I owe myself that.
