I succeeded today.
The only way to fail is to not try, and to try is to be successful. I took action. The steps were small but significant because they took me one step forward compared to where I was yesterday. I suppose all I can do is take one small step forward at a time. Today, I stopped just saying I was going to sell some things we no longer use, and I took a lens into town to have it valued, ready to put on eBay. It may not have made eBay yet, but it’s still a step.
Once home, I phoned the Child Support Agency and asked them to review the money that Greg gives me for the girls. This may not get me anywhere; he may not have to give me more money, but at least I’m trying. He doesn’t pay anywhere near enough for the girls, and I’m sick of us struggling every single day while he lives in an expensive house, goes on holidays abroad, and lives a life of luxury compared to his children. It’s not fair. I’m not expecting a massive change; it’s more about the message I want to give him. What he’s giving to his daughter’s upkeep is not good enough.
Lastly, I did some job hunting. I have to give up any thoughts of having a successful photography business for now. I’m not giving up entirely, but I need money to get it going properly, and I don’t have that, so I need to work, but in all honesty, I’m not sure I’m cut out for it anyway. The bottom line is, I don’t think I’m good enough, so until I can change that belief, there’s not much point in doing anything about a business. Tonight I applied for a catering assistant job at a school, and I have the number of a school requiring special needs assistants. I’m not qualified for either job, but I have nothing to lose by trying.
